Terms of Use

Last updated Wed, Oct 21, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Kumotrip, which is run by its founder, based in Malaysia. By creating an account or using Kumotrip you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kumotrip.

1. Who can use Kumotrip

You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. You can add children and other people as traveller names on a trip if you have their permission, or their parent’s. One person per account: keep your sign-in email and your Google or Facebook account secure, and tell us if you think someone else used it.

2. Kumotrip is a helper, not a travel agent

Kumotrip helps you plan, keep and share trip information. It is not a travel agent, tour operator, airline, hotel, booking platform or financial service, and it doesn’t book or pay for travel for you. Plans, prices, timetables, routes, opening hours, entry rules and booking warnings come from AI, public data and the sources linked next to them, and they can be wrong or out of date. Prices marked as estimates are not live. Check with the airline, hotel, operator or government before you rely on something, especially visas, entry rules and tickets you must book ahead.

3. AI features

Trip plans are written by third-party AI models from the details you give. AI can make confident mistakes, suggest places that have closed or quote the wrong price, so you decide what to rely on. Don’t enter anything you don’t want sent to an AI provider. We may limit how many plans you can make, and stop requests that look automated or abusive.

4. Other services and links

Links to other websites, maps based on OpenStreetMap, exchange-rate sources and sign-in providers are run by other companies under their own terms. We aren’t responsible for their content or for when they are unavailable.

5. Shared trips

The organiser of a trip controls it: they invite people, can reset the invite link, remove members and delete the trip. Members can see and edit the trip’s plan, expenses and shared documents. Removing a member keeps their name on past expenses so balances still add up. Only invite people you trust with that trip’s details.

6. Your content and public guides

  • You own what you add: trips, plans, notes, photos and documents.
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and show it as needed to run Kumotrip for you and the people you share it with.
  • When you publish a trip as a public guide, you also let us show it publicly, in search engines and in link previews, and let other people copy it into their own trips for personal use. You can unpublish it at any time; copies others already made stay with them.
  • Only publish what you have the right to share, and never anyone’s private details.

7. Rules for using Kumotrip

Don’t use Kumotrip to:

  • break the law, harass anyone, or store or share content that is illegal, hateful or infringes someone’s rights;
  • scrape, copy, resell or build a competing product from Kumotrip or its data;
  • reverse engineer it, test or break its security, overload it, or spread malware;
  • get around limits or plan restrictions, for example with several accounts.

We may remove content, hide public guides, limit features or block accounts that break these rules.

8. Money and splitting

Exchange rates are reference rates from the source shown, for planning and keeping track only; your bank or card will charge differently. Balances are a record between friends. Kumotrip doesn’t hold, move or guarantee money, and you settle up between yourselves.

9. Paid plans

When paid plans start, these rules apply:

  • Prices are shown before you pay, including any taxes we must charge.
  • Trip Boost is a one-off purchase for one trip.
  • Voyager renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If you haven’t used what you bought, you can ask for a refund within 14 days. After you’ve used paid features, payments aren’t refundable, unless the law where you live gives you more rights.
  • We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a subscription price changes.
  • Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play follow those stores’ refund rules.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account. We may suspend or block an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or when the law requires it, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it. If we ever close Kumotrip, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice so you can save your data.

11. Our rights

The Kumotrip software, design, name and logo belong to us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. These terms give you a personal right to use Kumotrip that you can’t transfer, not ownership of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

12. Changes to Kumotrip

Kumotrip is in early access. Features may change, be limited or be removed, and we’ll try to warn you before we remove something you rely on.

13. No guarantees

Kumotrip is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise it will always work, be free of errors, or that its information is accurate. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded, such as the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 or the consumer law of your country.

14. Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed flights, trains or bookings, or extra travel costs, caused by relying on information in Kumotrip. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and RM 100 (or the same amount in your currency). We don’t limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.

15. Your responsibility

You’re responsible for what you add to Kumotrip and for having permission to add other people’s details. If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms, you’ll cover our reasonable costs of it, as far as the law allows.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out by email. If not, the courts of Malaysia can decide the dispute. If you use Kumotrip as a consumer, you can also go to the courts where you live and keep the protection of their consumer laws.

17. Changes to these terms

We’ll post changes here with a new date. For changes that matter, we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using Kumotrip after that, you accept the new terms.

18. Contact

Questions about these terms: reply to any email from Kumotrip.
